Upgrade RouterOS on RouterBoard (CLI)

Hi Foks,

In this article i’ll teach you how to upgrade the RouterOS on your devices, this consists of 2 upgrades and 2 restarts!
Do this with caution in a production environment!

On Microtik download page you can check in the changelog what has been changed in the newer releases.

There are 2 ways of upgrading the routeros, if you have internet connectivity on the routerboard device, you can login with ssh/telnet and preform the

/system package update check-for-updates

command.

Reset routerboard to factory defaults (CLI)

Hi Foks,

This is the first post, within this post i’ll try to explain how to reset your routerboard to factory defaults, or to reset it without any configuration at all.

The first step is to login to your routerboard by using ssh or telnet.
The default IP adres of your routerboard is 192.168.88.1

ssh admin@your routerboard's ip
admin@your routerboard's password:
